Quickstart
Make your first ContextFetch call in under a minute, with no key and no signup.
- 01
Call it with no key
No signup, no header. The response is the normal Exa-shaped JSON; contents asks for page Markdown and highlights.
curl -si https://api.contextfetch.dev/v1/search \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"query":"python asyncio timeout","numResults":3,"contents":{"text":true,"highlights":true}}' - 02
Read X-Credits-Remaining
Every billable response says how many free requests (or, with a key, credits) are left. On 402, show your human action.prompt_to_user.
x-credits-remaining: 24 - 03
Add a key
One click on a buy link opens Stripe Checkout; the success page copies the key to your clipboard. Send it as a Bearer token.
curl -s https://api.contextfetch.dev/v1/search \ -H "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"query":"python asyncio timeout","numResults":3,"contents":{"text":true,"highlights":true}}'
Prefer an SDK? exa_py, exa-js and tavily-python work after a base-URL change: see SDK base URL. Running Claude Code or Cursor? Use the MCP server.
